Once upon a time, there lived a little girl who was happier than a bluebird and brighter than the sun. This little girl lived happily with her family and lived carefree.

The little girl showed love on all things that she could. She helped her mother set the dinner table, cheered her older brother on in neighborhood softball games and talked with her father while he sat at his desk, paying the bills.

After it rained she’d run outside to jump in the puddles.  And while she skipped, hopped and jumped, she always made sure not to step on the worms on the pavement or the chirping frogs in the grass.

Birds would get lost in her attic and she’d throw open all windows and doors in the house and would sit and wait; wait until the bird finally escaped.

She had a pet cat that she held, combed and played with.  Often the little girl curled up with the cat and cat napped in the sun!

The little girl loved to spend her days on the swingset and her nights catching fireflies and watching the stars.

But one day something happened.

And that little girl cried.  She cried more in that moment than any other in her life; more than when she sobbed for the robin with the broken wing found outside her house or the pet fish won from the fair that went belly up.
